Single and double girder overhead gantry cranes are primarily composed of four main components: the lifting unit, the bridge running unit, steel construction (girder, platform, hinge legs, fixed legs, etc.), and electrical installation. These cranes are typically used in open work areas (such as marble quarries, open storage areas, etc.).
The use of this crane type in open spaces allows for critical dimensions such as lifting height and span to be freely chosen in accordance with the process, without the limiting effects of enclosed spaces.
We offer turnkey design, manufacturing, and installation services for all sizes and capacities, taking into account our partner's operational process, special requirements, and the suitability of the installation site.
What is the difference between a single girder and a double girder overhead portal crane? What are the selection criteria?
• When the capacity or span is large, and if the customer's processing process is not affected, the use of double girder overhead gantry cranes will generally be more appropriate. Otherwise, a single girder overhead gantry crane can be used with special design.
• The hook coverage area inside a factory is much better in single girder overhead portal cranes compared to double girder portal cranes. If none of the conditions mentioned above create any incompatibility, a single girder overhead gantry crane may be preferred.
